This is Ben's travel lacrosse team after they won one of their summer tournaments.  Ben (in the green hat) is my son and has type 1 diabetes and for whom I am playing this event.  Ben leads an almost normal life except having to check his blood sugar 6-8 times a day and ensuring he is not too high or low by wearing an insulin pump.  He plays golf and lacrosse but still wishes he did not have to deal with the disease.  Your donation goes to help the JDRF find a cure as well as other great childrens charities.

Please help my fellow PGA Professionals and I as we "play for a purpose" during our 7th Annual Birdies for Charity event. As children, we are all taught that often times the best way to say thank you is to pay it forward. The game of golf has provided me with such wonderful experiences that I'm compelled to use my talents to create better opportunities for today's youth.

Over the last five years, our efforts have raised over $919,000 for the children in our community. Please help us reach our fund raising goal of $250,000 for this year's event to benefit JDRF, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Illinois PGA Foundation.
