We are pleased to once again announce our continued efforts to utilize golf as a platform for giving back to the community. Our 8th Annual "Birdies for Charity" fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, September 4th at River Forest Country Club.
The concept of the event is simple. Illinois PGA Professionals will tee-it-up on this day in an effort to raise money for four very deserving charities by making as many birdies as they can while playing 72 holes in one day. Last year, Thirty-five Illinois PGA Professionals raised $268,000 for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, JDRF, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana and the Illinois PGA Foundation. In seven years, this fundraising program has generated $1.18 million for the charities.
With the addition of the Central Illinois Chapter participating in the event, our goal this year is to raise a collective $300,000 for the worthy organizations.
We are asking for your support of our PGA Professionals as they "play for a purpose" by making a financial pledge for every birdie made by a PGA Professional on September 4th.
