We are pleased to once again announce our continued efforts to utilize golf as a platform for giving back to the community. Our 9th Annual "Birdies for Charity" fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, September 3rd at River Forest Country Club.

The concept of the event is simple. Illinois PGA Professionals will tee-it-up on this day in an effort to raise money for four very deserving charities by making as many birdies as they can while playing up to 90 holes in one day. Last year, 40-plus Illinois PGA Professionals raised $378,000 for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, JDRF, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana and the Illinois PGA Foundation. In seven years, this fundraising program has generated $1.4 million for the charities.

With the addition of the Central Illinois Chapter participating in the event, our goal this year is to raise a collective $450,000 for the worthy organizations.

We are asking for your support of our PGA Professionals as they "play for a purpose" by making a financial pledge for every birdie made by a PGA Professional on September 3rd.

Please help my fellow PGA Professionals and I as we “play for a purpose” during our 9th annual Birdies for Charity event. As children, we are taught that often times the best way to say thank you is to pay it forward. The game of golf has provided me with such wonderful experiences that I’m compelled to use my talents to create better opportunities for today’s youth.

Over the last eight years, our efforts have raised $1.4 million for the children in our community. Please help us reach our fundraising goal of $450,000 for this year’s event to benefit JDRF, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Illinois PGA Foundation.
